Students working together in Xplora Breda

House rules

When many people are working together in the same place it is essential to make clear agreements about:

  • how the services will be used
  • how to avoid causing problems for others.

As an Xplora user you are expected to be aware of and agree to these house rules. See also the Lending terms and conditions.

Food and drink
Xplora is a comfortably equipped environment. High-quality furniture and modern PC equipment is provided to make sure that students have the best possible workstation. We therefore kindly request you to leave your workstation clean and tidy for the next user. Be careful with food and drinks near computers. Coffee corners and an internetc@fé are available at Xplora Breda and 's-Hertogenbosch. You can also use the canteen located elsewhere in the school building.

Coats and bags
Coats and bags can be taken into Xplora, but make sure that these do not block the aisles for other students. You can also hire a locker in the school building to store your possessions safely and free of charge.

Found objects
Any remaining assets of visitors are kept at the Xplora service desk. The Xplora employees will try to contact you by phone or e-mail if it is clear from whom the found object is.
In Xplora USB sticks are regularly found. Therefore provide your USB stick with a folder name containing your email address and student number.

Noise nuisance
You are not permitted to play music unless you use headphones. You can also borrow a headset at the service desk.

Mobile phones
You can make calls in Xplora. However most people automatically talk louder when using a telephone. Please talk in a low voice or go along the corridor (or go to the internetc@fé) to continue your conversation. Set your ring tone to the lowest volume or use the vibrate setting to avoid causing a nuisance to others.

Security
There are security gates at the Xplora entrance to prevent theft. If the alarm sounds, you will be kindly asked to return to the service desk. A staff member will then investigate what could have triggered the alarm, which may include checking the contents of your bag.

Nuisance behavior
In the event of theft or misuse your student account will be blocked for three months pending a sanction by the Dean of your school. If you are misusing the facilities or causing a nuisance the staff will speak to you and can refuse you short-term or long-term access to Xplora. In serious cases you may be denied access for up to one academic year in consultation with the Dean.
