Blackboard is the Avans University of Applied Sciences electronic learning environment

Blackboard (Bb) is the Avans University of Applied Sciences Electronic Learning Environment (ELO). Bb applications - such as courses, portfolios, school news, tests and discussion boards - are frequently used as part of the teaching process. Blackboard is also a practical electronic tool that lecturers, students and the school can use to communicate and provide one another with information.

The Blackboard Learning & Teaching Conference 2011 in Leeds (UK) devotes considerable attention to presentations by Blackboard users. The conference is a good way to share practical knowledge and solutions.

The prize for the best two presentations went to Neil Morris of Leeds University for his presentation 'Using Blackboard to Provide a Blended Learning Environment to Enhance Learning and Increase Engagement' and to Bert Frissen and Rick Dijs of Avans with their presentation on migration to Blackboard 9.1 and online support. The title: My Blackboard has changed, please help?

Both winners received a subscription for BbWorld 2011 in Las Vegas.

 

How do I get to Blackboard?

In both cases you log in once using your Avans username and password.

Staff and students can contact their school’s eLearning coach (eLCo) for Blackboard support. To view an up-to-date list of eLCos, click on the Help key in Blackboard.
